Indian Australian Multicultural Sports Association (IAMSA) is a registered and incorporated association with the ACT Government, operating as a not-for-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers. Our organization promotes and organises sports activities and events for the Indian and Australian multicultural communities, creating a platform where people from different cultural backgrounds can come together, play sports, socialize, and build a sense of community.
IAMSA has been organizing various sports tournaments and activities for sports lovers in Canberra's community. These events include the Multicultural World Cup, Independence Day Cricket Cup (to celebrate the Independence Day of India), Friendship Cup, Imran Gavaskar Trophy, and Pink Stump Day to raise money for the McGrath Breast Cancer Foundation. We also organize Lawn Tennis competitions to promote awareness of well-being and mental health among our community members.
Our events have been a great success, and this year, we were honoured to have a team from the India High Commission participate in the Independence Day Cricket Cup. With their support, we were able to raise funds for the benefit of the community.
IAMSA has also been active in providing support during the bushfire and COVID-19 crises. During the bushfire crisis, we provided masks, water, and other necessary supplies to those in need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we assisted Indian students and students from other countries by providing food and financial assistance.
IAMSA has always been committed to promoting sports, cultural exchange, social harmony, and community building. We work closely with local communities in Canberra and throughout Australia to create a safe and inclusive environment where people from different backgrounds can come together and engage in sports and cultural activities. Our organization is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that our events are successful and that our members receive the support they need.
At IAMSA, we believe that sports and cultural activities have the power to bring people together, break down barriers, and promote understanding between different communities. We are proud of our work and invite you to join us and be a part of our community.
